Even during this time of quarantine, we can all be travelers. Each day, thousands of Roman Catholic churches stream the Holy Mass to believers within their parish communities and to digital visitors from around the world.
This Easter Sunday, I encourage you to experience the diverse beauty within our Church by streaming Mass from one of the world’s beautiful basilicas. Given that my blog attracts an English-speaking audience, the list of Easter Mass live streams provided below is focused on English liturgies.

St. Peter’s Basilica — Vatican City
While His Holiness Pope Francis will not deliver Easter Mass in English, it will be translated and live-streamed on the Vatican News website and on the EWTN Facebook page.
The Easter Vigil Mass will begin on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET and the Easter Sunday Mass will begin at 5 a.m. ET.
Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis — St. Louis, Missouri
Dedicated in 1914 and completed in 1926, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is adorned with one of the largest mosaic collections in the world. The mosaic installation is comprised of some 41.5 million glass tesserae pieces in more than 7,000 colors. The cathedral was named in honor of Saint Louis XIV, King of France. Pope Saint John Paul II elevated the cathedral to the status of Minor Basilica in 1997, and visited the cathedral during his pilgrimage to the United States in 1999.

Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine — St. Augustine, Florida
Completed in 1797 and serving a parish community that was established in the 16th century, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine is one of America’s oldest Catholic Churches. It is located at the heart of St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the continental United States, which was first established by Spanish settlers in 1565.

The Easter Vigil Mass will begin on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET and the Easter Sunday Mass will begin at 8 a.m. ET. The celebrant is expected to be His Excellency Bishop Felipe de Jesús Estévez.
Basilica of St. Lawrence the Deacon & Martyr — Asheville, North Carolina
Located in downtown Asheville and in the Diocese of Charlotte, the Basilica of St. Lawrence was built in 1905. It was elevated to the status of Minor Basilica by Pope St. John Paul II in 1993. Saint Lawrence was one of seven deacons in the city of Rome who were martyred alongside Pope Sixtus II on August 10, 258 under the order of Roman Emperor Valerian.

Basilica of St. Mary — Arlington, Virginia
Founded in 1795, the Basilica of St. Mary is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Virginia. The current building was largely completed in 1826. It was designated a Minor Basilica by Pope Francis in 2017. The parish claims that George Washington donated funds towards the construction of the original church building, which was torn down to make way for a cemetery in the 1830s.

Saint Anthony Cathedral Basilica — Beaumont, Texas
Saint Anthony Cathedral Basilica was completed in 1907 and it was named a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark in 1980. Pope Benedict XVI raised the cathedral to the status of Minor Basilica in 2006. The Basilica holds a relic of Pope St. John Paul II, a zucchetto worn by the pope.

St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption — Covington, Kentucky
Construction of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption began in 1895 and was modeled on the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The cathedral was designated a Minor Basilica in 1953 by Pope Pius XII.

Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace — Honolulu, Hawaii
Dedicated in 1843, the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace is the oldest surviving building in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii. It is the seat of the the Bishop of the Diocese of Honolulu, which is part of the Metropolitan See of San Francisco, California. On May 21, 1864, Saint Damien of Moloka’i was ordained a priest in the cathedral. The cathedral was designated a Minor Basilica nearly 150 years later on May 10, 2014, with the inaugural mass celebrated on October 11, 2014.

Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi — Santa Fe, New Mexico
Dedicated in 1887, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi is the seat of the Archbishop of Santa Fe. The cathedral was designated a Minor Basilica by Pope Benedict XVI shortly after his election in 2005. A replica of the San Damiano Cross before which St. Francis prayed in Assisi, Italy is located above the altar.

The Basilica of St. Mary — Minneapolis, Minnesota
Opened in 1914 and completed in 1925, the Basilica of St. Mary was once the Pro-Cathedral of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. It is now recognized as a Co-Cathedral. In 1926, the church was recognized as a Minor Basilica by Pope Pius XI, making it the first church in the United States to attain basilica status. In 1975, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
